Dance of flowers, voice of nature
사춘기 시절 한국무용을 접하게 되었다.
무대 위에서 음악과 함께 춤을 추던 무용수 옷자락의 너울거림이
강렬한 무대조명과 함께 현실과 동떨어진 꿈속의 환영처럼 무의식 속에 남아있었다.
그 기억이
바람과 빛의 감정을 형상으로 드러내던 꽃의 모습을 통해 반응하고 소통하면서
꽃과 무용수의 몸짓이 융합된 표상적(表象的) 이미지를 만들어 내었다.
나의 작품에 나타나는 꽃은 전통 한국무용과 오버랩(overlap) 되어 주제로 나타나고,
나의 기억 속에서 보고 느꼈던 미적 경험과 결합되어 내 안에서 재해석 되어 만들어진 형상으로 표현되어졌다.
Dance of Flowers, Voice of Nature
During my adolescence, I was introduced to traditional Korean dance.
The flowing movement of the dancers' garments as they moved to the music on stage, illuminated by intense stage lighting, remained in my subconscious like a dreamlike vision, detached from reality.
That memory later resonated and communicated through the image of flowers, which embody the emotions of wind and light. This interaction gave rise to a symbolic image where the gestures of dancers and the movement of flowers seamlessly merge.
In my artwork, flowers overlap with traditional Korean dance, becoming a central theme. They are reinterpreted within me, fused with my aesthetic experiences—what I saw and felt in my memories—transforming into unique visual expressions.
